The Data Center
The Data Center uses Mitsubishi and Powerware UPS units. Each are equipped with the latest Power Management software interfaces and are capable of synchronizing phases for the sake of failover. The power system is fully redundant including a power grid fed from three different main transmission lines; and both natural gas and diesel generators are tied in using Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). Power is designed to prevent overload and tripping with each rack having two separate unique circuit feeds.
Units are Maintained by Factory Trained Personnel
Optimum routing efficiency is assured through the use of Internap 10GX route optimization. This technology determines the fastest route by which to deliver content to a recipient as opposed to accepting standard provider routes. This ability is essential to any Content Delivery platform
The Data Center is multi-homed using Level 3, Cogent and Telia Sonera. Level 3 is the largest backbone provider in the United States and Telia is the largest in Europe. This allows efficient delivery on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition the direct connect to the 56 Marietta carrier hotel provides instantaneous connection to a tremendous number of local, regional, national and international backbones.
Each service is connected using a CISCO 6500 series switch with a SUP 720 3BXL with 10Gbps ports. The Center has 12 Gbps lit and 60 Gbps dark. Second tier switches are CISCO 3000 series and are all connected redundantly in such a manner that there is no single point of failure in the network..
For disaster recovery and media storage RAIDWEB by Electronix is used. These units, along with a proprietary protocol allow both NAS and SAN to be run within the same array. There is currently over 100TB of storage within a fiber network allowing for almost infinite scalability.
To insure optimum performance without end user buffering a large array of Caching servers are used for each delivery system. The network is designed specifically for high bandwidth delivery, and Caching is a tremendous tool for on demand Video delivery.
Air conditioners are all Liebert units varying in size from 5 Tons to 40 Tons. All air delivery systems are N+1, meaning should any single unit fail; the centers have sufficient capacity in their other units to continue in operation without interruption.
The center is equipped with Powder Suppression systems of both Halon and FM 200 providing with the greatest quality protection with the best recovery of equipment without damage.
